RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close the ramp from westbound Wade Avenue to I-440 East on Sunday night.
The ramp will close from 9:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday to allow crews to move equipment including a large crane from one side of the ramp to the other.
A detour will lead drivers to Blue Ridge Road to turn around and access I-440 East.
This work is weather dependent, and the rain date is planned for the following night.
Motorists should allow extra time to navigate the detour and slow down and pay attention throughout the work zone.
