GREENSBORO – State transportation contract crews are planning multiple overnight closures as part of an interstate improvement project in Guilford County.
The closures on Friday, July 17 through Wednesday, July 22 from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning are needed for concrete surface rehabilitation work over nearly seven miles of Interstate 73/U.S. 421 between I-40 and I-85.
I-73 North is scheduled to be closed at Exit 122A. Traffic will be detoured to take Exit 122A to Groometown Road and return to I-73 North.
The ramp from I-85 Business to I-73 North (Exit 33B) is also scheduled to close. The detour will utilize Exit 33 to Groometown Road to return to I-73 North.
All this work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and allow extra time for the detours.
