Detours Planned Along U.S. 52 in Forsyth County

RURAL HALL – Traffic is scheduled to be rerouted this week at two locations along U.S. 52 in Forsyth County.

N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews plan to pave a section connecting a new exit loop from U.S. 52 North to N.C. 65 as part of the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project. Doing so will require closing the right lane of northbound U.S. 52 in this area and the northbound exit at N.C. 65 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

On Friday, NCDOT maintenance crews plan to close the ramp from Westinghouse Road onto U.S. 52 South from 6 a.m. until about 3 p.m., and the right lane of southbound U.S. 52 in this area from 9 a.m. Friday until about 9 a.m. Saturday to make emergency concrete slab repairs.

Signed detours for both events will direct drivers to follow Westinghouse, Shore and Bethania-Rural Hall roads to access N.C. 65 and U.S. 52 South. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Drivers should slow down and be mindful of crews working in this area and set aside extra time for the detour.
