GREENSBORO – Northbound Interstate 73 is scheduled to close overnight several times in southwest Greensboro through early next week.
Contract crews plan to close I-73 North at the exit for Groometown Road and Grandover Parkway (Exit 122A) starting at 11 on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights and reopen the highway by 6 the following mornings.
During these time periods, traffic will be detoured to take Exit 122A to Groometown Road to return to I-73 North.
The closures will allow contractors to safely work on the project to rehabilitate concrete pavement along nearly 7 miles of I-73/U.S. 421 between I-40 and I-85 in Guilford County. All the work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and allow extra time for the detour.
