RALEIGH — N.C. Department of Transportation crews are planning an overnight closure tonight as part of the Interstate 440 Improvements Project.
From 9:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow, I-440 West will close at Western Boulevard (Exit 2B) to allow crews to pour the concrete deck on the western half of the new Melbourne Road bridge over the Beltline.
Drivers will take Exit 2B, Western Boulevard, Hillsborough Street and Jones Franklin Road to get back onto I-440 West.
The work is weather dependent and rain date is planned for the following night.
Motorists need to pay attention in the work zone and anticipate needing a little extra time for the detour.
