EDEN – State transportation officials have closed a Rockingham County road due to a failed drainage pipe.
A concrete culvert collapsed under Price Road, between Shady Grove Road and Plantation Road, due to wear over time.
N.C. Department of Transportation crews closed Price Road at this location on Monday and are pursing materials for repairs that could take several weeks.
In the meantime, traffic will be detoured to along Shady Grove Road, N.C. 770, Washington Street and Hamilton Street to access Price Road on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working to repair the road and allow extra time for the detours.
