WINSTON-SALEM – A section of Salem Parkway is scheduled to close for several overnight periods this week as part of ongoing fence and light installation work on the Strollway and Green Street pedestrian bridges.
Both directions of the freeway are scheduled to close between Main Street and Cloverdale Avenue from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until 6 the following mornings.
While the stretch is closed, the following detours will be in place:
- Westbound Salem Parkway traffic will exit at Main Street and follow the signed detour of Main Street to First Street to Cloverdale Avenue and return to Salem Parkway.
- Eastbound Salem Parkway traffic will exit at Cloverdale Avenue and follow the signed detour of Cloverdale Avenue to First Street to Peters Creek Parkway to Academy Street to Old Salem Road to Main Street and return to Salem Parkway.
The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should slow down near the work zone and factor the detours into their travel plans.
