Overnight Closures Upcoming Along I-73 in Guilford County

GREEENSBORO – State transportation contractors have planned several overnight closures along Interstate 73 in Guilford County this week.

The loop ramp from I-40 West to I-73 North (Exit 212B) is set to close at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and reopen by 6 the following mornings. Drivers will be detoured to follow I-40 West to Exit 211 (Gallimore Dairy Road) and take I-40 East back to Exit 212B for I-73 North.

Also, from midnight to 6 a.m. Thursday, I-73 North is set to be closed at Exit 122A, requiring drivers to take the exit toward Groometown Road/Grandover Parkway and then take the Groometown Road exit to return to I-73 North.

These closures will allow contractors to safely work on the project to rehabilitate concrete pavement along nearly 7 miles of I-73/U.S. 421 between I-40 and I-85 in Guilford County. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Drivers should be mindful of crews working near the travel lanes in this area and factor the detour into their commutes.
