DURHAM – Work on the East End Connector project will require overnight closures for N.C. 98 (Holloway Street) at the U.S. 70 interchange in Durham later this week.
The contractor will be completing work on the new U.S. 70 bridge over N.C. 98, so for the safety of drivers and construction workers, the closure will be in place from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
The on and off ramps will remain open, but traffic will be detoured around the closure using Hardee Street, Cheek Road, and Hoover Road.
Drivers should anticipate needing more time to travel in the area because of the detour.
Once completed, the East End Connector will provide an interstate link between the Durham Freeway/N.C. 147 and Interstate 85.
