SALSIBURY – Lane and ramp closures will be in place for about a week as part of Interstate 85 rehab work in Rowan County.
Contract crews plan to close the left two lanes of I-85 North between mile markers 73 and 76 and the loop ramp from Julian Road onto I-85 North starting at 9 p.m. Sunday to safely work on concrete slab repairs.
Traffic on the interstate will be shifted to utilize the right shoulder to maintain two lanes of travel throughout this stretch. The closures and modified traffic pattern are expected to be in place until 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16.
Drivers needing to access I-85 North from Julian Road should allow extra time for a detour that will have them follow I-85 South to the Peach Orchard Road exit to turn around.
People driving in this area should slow down and be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes.
