Rockingham County Road Under Emergency Repair

MADISON – N.C. Department of Transportation crews have closed a section of a Rockingham County road to make an emergency repair.

Mineral Springs Road closed Wednesday morning near U.S. 311 due to the slope to the Dan River below the road failing after the recent heavy rains. This location is expected to be closed for about two months while crews make necessary repairs to ensure the road is safe for drivers.

During the closure, a signed detour will be in place directing drivers to use U.S. 311 and Lindsey Bridge, Sardis Church and Ellisboro roads to access points on either side of the work zone.

Drivers should be mindful of crews working along the northern end of Mineral Springs Road and allow extra time for the detour.
