Resurfacing Projects Awarded for Person and Wake Counties

RALEIGH – Thanks to three new contracts awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation, totaling more than $7.5 million, 61 miles of area roadway will be resurfaced.

  • ​Under a $2.53 million contract, Carolina Sunrock of Raleigh will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 22.4 miles of state-maintained roads throughout Person County.
  • Under a $2.05 million contract, Fred Smith Company of Raleigh will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 22.1 miles of state-maintained roads throughout eastern Wake County.
  • Under a $2.97 million contract, Blythe Construction of Charlotte will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 16.7 miles of state-maintained roads throughout northern Wake County.

This work can start as soon as March 15 and must be complete by the end of July 2022.
