GARYSBURG – A bridge in Northampton County will be replaced next year, after the N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $685,000 contract.
The contract was awarded to National Bridge Builders of Kernersville. The project includes replacing the bridge, which was built in 1957, on Hargraves Road over Gumberry Swamp.
Bridge work can start in early January and is expected to be complete by mid-September. During construction, Jackson Bypass and Pleasant Grove roads can be used as a detour.
