NCDOT Awards Johnston County Repaving Contract

SMITHFIELD – Smoother roads are coming to portions of Johnston County, after the N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $3.7 million resurfacing contract.

S.T. Wooten Corp. of Wilson will mill and resurface about 44 miles of roadway across the county. The contractor also will place high-visibility lane markings on the repaved roads.

The work includes a nearly 9-mile stretch of N.C. 210 between Raleigh Road and Swift Creek Road.
The bulk of the remaining work will focus on sections of 22 secondary routes totaling 35 miles scattered across the county.

The contract requires work to begin after May 1 and be completed by October 2022.
