US 52 Repair Work to Extend Through Winter

WINSTON-SALEM – The N.C. Department of Transportation will install periodic lane closures this winter to continue repairing a stretch of U.S. 52 in Forsyth County.

The department intends to complete concrete repairs on the highway between Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem and Main Street in King this winter to be on schedule for resurfacing and shoulder work planned for next spring.

This work is designed to take place outside of peak traffic hours, but there may be times when weather conditions impact how the concrete cures and require the lane closures to extend into the rush hours.

The lane closures will not be daily but may occur two to three times per week, depending on weather conditions. They will not take place during holiday periods.

The department reminds motorists to pay extra attention as crews will be close to the travel lanes in the work zone.
