RALEIGH – The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is continuing construction of the southern portion of the Complete 540 project, which will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from N.C. 55 Bypass to Interstate 40.
On or about January 4, 2021, Old McCullers Road will temporarily close to through traffic between Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) and Advantage Way. Old McCullers Road will temporarily close to all traffic between Winning Way and Advantage Way near the Wake Technical Community College – Southern Wake Campus. Road closure and detour signs will be installed. This section of Old McCullers Road, between Winning Way and Advantage Way, is scheduled to remain closed for approximately three months while contractors perform culvert construction. A portion of Tech Road will also be closed to all traffic between Graduation Way and Old McCullers Road. Please reference the map above for further details.
Motorists should plan to take the detour route(s) by following signs along the roadway, taking Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) north to Ten Ten Road and then east on Ten Ten Road to Old McCullers Road. The reverse will be used for detouring traffic in the opposite direction. More detour information is available at DriveNC.gov.
Drivers should use caution and slow down while traveling through the work zones and along the detour routes.
