NASHVILLE – A section of Old Spring Hope Road in Nash County will be closed next week to replace a crossline pipe.
Maintenance crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close the road starting at 7 a.m. Monday near Old Bailey Highway south of Nashville. They will dig up the pavement, replace the drainage pipe, which is beginning to deteriorate, with a similar-sized culvert, then patch the road.
UPDATED REOPENING DATE: The crews hope to complete the project and reopen the road by the end of the day on Sept. 29. weather permitting.
On a related note, an NCDOT contractor is scheduled to resurface and restripe Old Spring Hope Road between Old Bailey Highway and Eastern Avenue by the end of next year.
