Pair of U.S. 70 Ramps in Durham to Close Overnight

DURHAM — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are set to close one ramp to and one ramp from U.S. 70 East in Durham tonight.

Beginning at 8 p.m., the ramp from Cheek Road onto U.S. 70 East will be closed to allow crews to place new pavement markings and adjust the concrete barrier on the ramp.

Traffic will be detoured from Cheek Road to Geer Street, Miami Boulevard and Holloway Street to get onto U.S. 70 East.

At the same time, the ramp from U.S. 70 East to N.C. 98/Holloway Street will also be closed for the same work.

Drivers wanting to access N.C. 98/Holloway Street will take the Cheek Road exit and follow Cheek Road, Geer Street and Miami Boulevard to reach Holloway Street.

Work is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. Friday but is weather dependent and subject to change.

Drivers should pay extra attention and allow extra time to navigate around the work zone.
