DURHAM – Overnight lane closures are scheduled for the next month on Interstate 40 in Durham County for pavement sealing operations.
N.C. Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to close two of the three travel lanes each night from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day as weather permits to allow for cracks to be sealed in the center lane.
Work began last night on I-40 East near the Orange County line and U.S. 15/501. Over the next month, crews will work their way east to N.C. 147 before turning around and performing the same work on the westbound lanes.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and expect delays.
