LEXINGTON – Lanes of Interstate 85 are scheduled to close overnight as part of an airport safety project in Davidson County.
Two of three lanes of I-85 North are set to close near the N.C. 47/Hargrave Road interchange (Exit 88) from 8 this evening until 6 a.m. tomorrow.
The lane closures will allow contract crews to safely install special lighting that will expand the capabilities of Runway 6 at the Davidson County Airport. The project is a joint effort with NCDOT's Division of Aviation.
Drivers should slow down and anticipate the lane reductions near the Hargrave Road interchange and be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes during these time periods.
