RALEIGH — N.C. Department of Transportation crews are planning an overnight closure of Wade Avenue tonight as a part of the Interstate 440 Improvements Project.
From midnight until 5 a.m. tomorrow, both directions of Wade Avenue will close at the I-440 interchange to allow crews to set girders for the new highway bridge over Wade Avenue.
Westbound Wade Avenue drivers will be detoured onto I-440 East and Lake Boone Trail to turn around and access westbound Wade Avenue.
Eastbound drivers will be detoured onto I-440 West and Hillsborough Street to turn around and access eastbound Wade Avenue.
Motorists need to pay attention near the work zone and anticipate needing extra time for the detours.
