BURNSVILLE – The Yancey County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is being updated and public input is needed.
The CTP is a long-range, multi-modal transportation plan to cover the next 25-30 years and is used to identify potential transportation projects for future funding.
Projects to be considered include recommendations for highways, public transportation, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian use. The plan comes from a partnership between the N.C. Department of Transportation, local governments, the High Country Rural Planning Organization, and a local stakeholder Steering Committee.
Suggestions will be accepted through April 30. Participants will be asked what improvements in transportation they would like to see and what specific issues they think need to be addressed.
Updated recommendations and maps will be available for public review and comment from April 12 until April 16 at the Burnsville Town Center at 6 South Main Street during regular business hours. Visitors to the Town Center will need to follow appropriate COVID-19 safety measures.
