Options for Improving Alamance County Intersection Up for Review

GRAHAM – The public is invited to review and provide input on proposed improvements to the intersection of N.C. 54 (East Harden Street) at N.C. 49 (East Elm Street) in Alamance County.

The purpose of the project is to improve traffic operations and pedestrian accessibility where the highways meet in Graham. Two options are being considered: one would maintain a traditional intersection design with upgrades and the other would replace the signalized intersection with a hybrid roundabout.

Due to COVID-19, NCDOT will not host an in-person public meeting for this project and there will not be a formal presentation.

The department has developed a public input website to provide you with the following:

  • An overview of the project
  • How to read public meeting map video
  • How to navigate roundabouts video
  • Project alternative maps

People may also leave comments by accessing the public input webpage or can do so by phone (855-925-2801 enter project code 8358) or email (NC54-NC49-Graham@PublicInput.com) by May 10.
