Temporary Partial Closure of Chandler Ridge Circle as Part of Ongoing Complete 540 Construction

RALEIGH – The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is continuing construction of the southern portion of the Complete 540 project, which will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from N.C. 55 Bypass to Interstate 40.

On or about June 1, 2021, Chandler Ridge Circle will temporarily close to traffic where the road intersects with Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401). This portion of Chandler Ridge Circle is scheduled to remain closed for approximately two months. Contractors for the project will be completing construction work within the Chandler Ridge parking lot, as well as construction work for the future realignment of Donny Brook Road to Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) at Chandler Ridge. The road closure is essential to ensure the safety of the project team and the public during these construction activities. Road closure signs will be installed. Chandler Ridge Apartment residents will maintain access to the neighborhood throughout the scheduled closure. Residents will need to use the neighborhood entrance at Education Road, south of the Chandler Ridge Circle road closure on Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401). Residents traveling northbound on Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) destined for the apartment complex will need to make a U-turn at Chandler Ridge Circle to access the neighborhood at Education Road. Similarly, traffic exiting the neighborhood at Education Road and desiring to go north on Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) will need to travel south on Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401), then make a U-turn at Tech Road or Industry Drive, further south.  This temporary road closure will not alter entrances and exits to and from Wake Technical Community College located across Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) at this location.
