​GREENSBORO – Contract crews plan to close a section of U.S. 29 in Guilford County this weekend to revamp the highway.
U.S. 29 North is set to close between Interstate 40 and 16th Street from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday so crews can safely mill and resurface pavement along this stretch, including exit loops and ramps. This work mirrors that which took place on the southbound side last weekend.
As a detour, drivers should continue straight on I-40 East, take I-785 North (Exit 227) and follow the interstate to return to U.S. 29 at Exit 14B.
Drivers should follow the posted signage and allow extra time for the detour.
