US 52 Repair Work Ramps Up in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – Crews plan to add additional workdays over the next couple weeks to ensure a stretch of U.S. 52 in Forsyth County is repaired prior to upcoming resurfacing and shoulder work.

Concrete slab repairs that have been taking place several days each week on the highway between Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem and Main Street in King are now also scheduled to take place Friday, Aug. 5 and Friday, Aug. 13.

Drivers can expect the work to take place under lane closures during non-peak traffic hours as weather permits, however there may be times when conditions impact how the concrete cures and require lane closures to extend into the rush hours.

The department reminds motorists to pay extra attention as crews will be close to the travel lanes in the work zone.
