DENTON – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close part of N.C. 47 next week for a pipe replacement.
On Aug. 23 at 9 a.m., N.C. 47 (West Salisbury Street) will be closed between Jones Street and Railroad Street while crews replace a crossline pipe that has failed under the roadway. The street is expected to reopen Friday, Aug. 27, at 3:30 p.m. or sooner, dependent on weather.
Motorists are advised to use N.C. 47, Carter Lumber Plant Road and North Main Street as the detour.
Drivers should use caution and expect delays while using the detour.
