​GREENSBORO – Contract crews plan to continue resurfacing work on U.S. 29 in Guilford County this weekend.
Weather permitting, the contractor plans to close the northbound side of U.S. 29 between Interstate 40 and 16th Street from 7:30 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.
The closure will ensure crews can safely mill and resurface the pavement and install permanent pavement markings along this stretch.
As a detour, drivers should continue straight on I-40 East, take I-785 North (Exit 227) and follow the interstate to return to U.S. 29 at Exit 14B.
Drivers should follow the posted signage and allow extra time for the detour.
