CLEVELAND – Starting next week, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a Rowan County road for five days, weather permitting.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Sept. 27, Cool Springs Road will be closed in both directions at its intersection with Foster Road. The closure will allow crews to replace a failed drainpipe under the roadway. This work is necessary to prevent further damage to the road and adjacent properties.
The road will only remain closed during the repairs. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 1.
Traffic will be detoured to Foster Road, Hobson Road and back to Cool Springs Road.
If necessary, the alternative scheduled dates for this project will be Oct. 4-8.
Drivers are advised to use caution and expect delays while using the detour.
