WALNUT COVE – Beginning next week, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close a Stokes County road for about a month for a maintenance project.
Starting Oct. 4 at 7 a.m., Brook Cove Road will be closed in both directions near Watts Road. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely repair a retaining wall to stabilize the shoulder of the road. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 29.
Traffic will be detoured to Watts Road, Rosebud Road, N.C. 8 and back to Brook Cove Road.
Drivers should remain alert in the area and plan accordingly for delays due to the detour.
