WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend, contract crews will have nightly closures for the ongoing improvement project along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County, weather permitting.
From Oct. 10-12, two of three lanes will be closed nightly on the southbound Union Cross Road bridge over I-40 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The following nightly closures will be scheduled from Oct. 13-14 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.:
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 East from just west of the I-40/U.S. 421 split to east of Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
These closures will allow crews to safely continue bridge and pavement rehabilitation.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and allow additional time to reach their destination safely.
