Duplin County Intersection Will Be Improved for Safety

WARSAW – A crossroads east of Warsaw will be changed into an all-way stop next week to reduce the risk of serious crashes.

The intersection of West Wards Bridge and Bowdens roads will be converted on Jan. 5, roughly between 8 a.m. and noon, so drivers should slow down and be alert traveling through the area then.

Currently, West Wards Bridge Road has the stop signs.

The installations are weather dependent and could be rescheduled.

The N.C. Department of Transportation's traffic services has recommended the change after conducting a field investigation and reviewing crash and traffic volumes. The change is intended to reduce collisions caused by drivers failing to yield to traffic.
