ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will open a new license plate agency (LPA) on Feb. 28 in Catawba County.
The agency will be located at 901 U.S. Hwy. 321 N.W., Suite 100 in Hickory at the intersection with 9th Ave. N.W.
The LPA will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on state holidays and will be operated by Heather Moody.
The new agency replaces a previous one at the same location that closed in December 2021.
In North Carolina, NCDMV oversees LPAs, but the agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards and duplicate registrations. There are currently 130 license plate agencies operating across North Carolina.
