RALEIGH – About five miles of roadway in the capital city will be resurfaced, thanks to a new, $3.5 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Blythe Construction of Charlotte will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along three miles of Western Boulevard and two miles of Avent Ferry Road.
The segments of Western Boulevard to be resurfaced are between Hillsborough Street and the west side of the Beltline and the east side of the Beltline and Pullen Park.
Avent Ferry will be resurfaced between Athens Drive and Western Boulevard.
This work may begin this summer and must be complete by the end of next fall.
