Craven County Highway Ramp Closures Upcoming

NEW BERN – A section of highway and an interchange ramp in Craven County is scheduled to close mid-week for crews to continue maintenance work.

The following locations are set to close for milling, resurfacing and paint striping on Wednesday at 6 a.m.:

• U.S. 17 South / U.S. 70 West / N.C. 55 West ramp to U.S 70 West from Front Street
  

  • This ramp will close initially to allow crews to move equipment from Front Street to area below.
    

• Right lane of U.S. 70 West near the U.S. 17 North exit ramp (417B)
  

  • This will tie into new pavement already placed east of U.S. 17 South / U.S. 70 West / N.C. 55 West ramp to U.S 70 West from Front Street.
    

• U.S. 70 West ramp to East Front Street (417A) will remain open but will be narrowed.
  

The closures are expected to be complete by 5 p.m. the same day.
