ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will host a career fair on May 3 to recruit employees for its Rocky Mount headquarters.

This free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the NCDMV headquarters, 1405 N. Church St.

The first hour of the career fair will give job seekers laid off after the QVC fire an opportunity to meet with hiring managers.

Those interested can learn more and register at the event webpage.

“We have more than 300 employees at our DMV headquarters, but we still have more than 100 positions to fill," said NCDMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin. “If you have a positive attitude and are looking for a great place to work that values work-life balance, has super benefits and where you can make a difference, we'd love to meet you."

Job openings include:

  • Driver license examiners
  • Administrative specialists
  • Program coordinators
  • Transportation workers
  • Engineering technicians
  • HR technicians
  • Disability medical consultant physicians
  • Law enforcement inspectors

Staff with NCDOT's Highway Construction Transportation Academy will be at the event, too, providing entry-level opportunities for candidates to enroll in a free, 8-week training program to get certified for careers in transportation construction.

NCWorks Rocky Mount also will be at the event to help job seekers with opportunities in the area and answer questions.

A food truck rodeo of local Rocky Mount vendors will be available during the event in the parking lot.
