CHARLOTTE – A $2.6 million contract awarded by the Department of Transportation will bring improvements to three sections of N.C. 27 and eight sections of secondary roads in Mecklenburg County.
The contract includes milling, resurfacing, shoulder reconstruction, and installing pavement markings and markers to 7.6 miles of these roads:
- N.C. 27 (Freedom Drive) between Mount Holly Road and Lundy Lane, and from Edgewood Road/Bradford Drive to Interstate 85
- Statesville Avenue between I-85 and Graham Street
- John Russell Road from Back Creek Church Road to McLean Road
- West John Street between Greylock Ridge Road and N.C. 51 (Matthews Township Parkway) in Matthews
Work can start as soon as June 6 and should be completed by October 2023.
