WINSTON-SALEM – Weather permitting, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor plans to temporarily close a portion of a highway in Forsyth County on Saturday for a maintenance project.
From 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, the contractor plans to close one lane of U.S. 421 between Shallowford Road and the Yadkin River to finish a pipe rehabilitation project. Work in this area started May 16 but was delayed due to weather. The lane is expected to be reopened no later than Sunday afternoon, once the contractor finishes cleanup.
Drivers are advised to remain alert and use additional caution when approaching the work zone.
