GARNER – A section of Interstate 40 is set to close overnight this week as part of the ongoing highway widening project in Johnston County.
I-40 West will be closed at N.C. 42 (Exit 312) nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday morning. This will allow crews to complete the demolition of the old N.C. 42 bridge over the interstate.
During these times, drivers will be detoured up and over the interchange to return to I-40 West.
Drivers should slow down when approaching Exit 312 on I-40 West and be mindful of the crews working near the interchange.
