Weekend Closure Coming to Cleveland County Road

SHELBY – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a Cleveland County road this weekend for a waterline relocation and bridge construction project.

Starting Saturday at 7 a.m., Metcalf Road will be closed between West Ross Grove and Barbee roads. Work is expected to be complete by 7 p.m. on Sunday.

A signed detour will be in place during the work hours following West Ross Grove Road, Lafayette Street, North Dekalb Street and West Zion Church Road to return to Metcalf Road.

Motorists are reminded to remain alert when approaching the work zone and allow extra time for the detour.
