GREENSBORO – The U.S. 29 north ramps from Interstate 40 and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will close in the Gate City this weekend to allow contractors to pave and erect barrier walls.
The northbound ramps will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 16 and July 17, reopening for nighttime traffic. Work is expected to be complete on July 17, but the schedule is weather dependent.
The detour will route traffic down I-40 to merge on to I-785 and then back onto U.S. 29.
Motorists need to slow down, be patient and pay extra attention as they travel near the work zone.
