GARNER – An exit ramp at a prominent local interchange on Interstate 40 is set to close for the weekend.
Weather permitting, contract crews plan to close the ramp from I-40 East to N.C. 42 (Exit 312) from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday to complete the construction of the new ramp for the diverging diamond design at the interchange.
During this time, drivers headed east on I-40 will be directed to take the prior exit onto U.S. 70 Bypass at Exit 309 to access N.C. 42.
Drivers should look for the signage for the detour and allow extra travel time during this temporary closure.
