PRINCETON – A contractor for Norfolk Southern will be improving several of its railroad crossings in Pine Level and Princeton, and the work will temporarily block vehicular traffic.
The first phase of the work is scheduled to begin Monday on Capp Street in Pine Level. The contractor will proceed southward, stopping along its affected railroad crossings as it winds through Pine Level and into Princeton.
The work will require each affected road to close for about four hours. This first phase will last about three weeks.
Then, starting in mid-October, the railroad crew will return to those same crossings, starting in Pine Level, and close each crossing for between one to four days to complete the upgrades.
The schedule is subject to change and weather delays. Drivers who use the Norfolk Southern crossings along this route in these two towns should be aware of closures and delays over the next month, and be mindful of workers at each crossing.
