WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close several lanes near Interstate 40 in Forsyth County tonight and tomorrow night from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. the following morning for an ongoing maintenance and construction project.
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from U.S. 52 to Peters Creek Parkway tonight.
- · One of two lanes will be closed on the Exit 188 offramp that carries traffic from I-40 West to U.S. 421 North tonight.
- One of two lanes will be closed on the Exit 238 offramp that carries traffic from U.S. 421 South to I-40 East tonight. In conjunction with the lane closure, the exit loop onto I-40 East from the connector ramp between U.S. 421 North and I-40 West will be closed with a detour.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 West from Highpoint Road to west of I-74 tomorrow. In conjunction with the closure, Exit 196 from I-40 West to I-74 East (to Highpoint) will be closed with a detour.
- One of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on the Exit 238 offramp that carries traffic from U.S. 421 South to I-40 East tomorrow. In conjunction with the lane closure, the exit loop onto I-40 East from the connector ramp between U.S. 421 North and I-40 West will be closed with a detour.
Motorists should remain alert and use caution while traveling through the work zones.
