SANFORD – A $2.2 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation will bring improvements to approximately seven miles of Lee County roadways.
The contract includes resurfacing segments of these primary roads:
- U.S. 1 South from Horner Boulevard to Spring Lane
- U.S. 1 Business North from Amos Bridges Road to the U.S. 1 Bypass
- U.S. 15/501 North and South between Perkinson Road and the U.S. 1 Bypass
Some secondary roads in the contract include:
- North Plank Road
- Womack Road
- Park Road
- Elwin Buchanan Road
- Oak Park Road
- Clyde Rhyne Drive
- Rex McLeod Drive
Work can start as soon as March 1, 2023, and the contract calls for completion by October 2024.
