WILMINGTON – Several Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach streets will be closed to drivers Saturday morning to accommodate runners in a local marathon.
Between 6 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., portions of roads including and surrounding Market Street and Eastwood Road/Causeway Drive will be closed to traffic. This will allow Novant Health Wilmington Marathon participants to safely get to the finish line.
While law enforcement and signs will direct traffic around the closures, the N.C. Department of Transportation encourages drivers to avoid the area during this time.
