Rowan County 4-Day Pipe Replacement Project Starting Next Week

GOLD HILL – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close a Rowan County road for about four days next week for a pipe replacement project, weather permitting.

From April 3-6, Wyatt Grove Church Road will be closed near Tucker Lane to allow crews to safely replace two storm drain pipes under the road.

Stormwater is not passing under the roadway correctly and causing the roadway to erode, and this operation will prevent additional damage to the roadway and adjacent properties.

Crews will drain the site, remove the old pipe, prepare the site for installation, place the pipe and rebuild the road in the four-day operation.

Traffic will be detoured to John Morgan Road and Stokes Ferry Road to return to Wyatt Grove Church Road.

The alternative dates for this work will be April 10-14.

Motorists are reminded to slow down while adjusting to detour routes.
