CHARLOTTE – Next week, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close a section of Westinghouse Boulevard between South Boulevard and Downs Road as part of the I-485 express lanes project.
Crews will be setting girders for a new bridge to the inside of I-485, creating space in the median for the future express lanes and Westinghouse Boulevard direct connector.
To safely perform this work, Westinghouse Boulevard will be closed in both directions from 11 p.m. Thursday, April 6 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 7. Crews will be setting girders for the new bridge.
A detour will be in place for drivers from Westinghouse Boulevard to South Boulevard, N.C. 51, and Downs Road.
