WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close an Interstate 40 ramp on consecutive nights for a bridge maintenance operation.
Tonight and tomorrow, the onramp from I-40 West to U.S. 52/I-285 South at mile marker 193 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. The closure is necessary to allow crews to perform maintenance on the bridge rail at the interchange.
Detoured traffic will take I-40 West, Exit 193C, Silas Creek Parkway, I-40 East and Exit 193A to access U.S. 52/I-285 South.
The onramp to I-40 East from U.S. 52/I-285 South will remain open while work is ongoing.
Motorists should plan accordingly for delays and remain alert while using the detour.
