Raeford Road in Fayetteville Requires Drainage Repairs

FAYETTEVILLE – The section of Raeford Road in western Fayetteville that washed out last month during heavy rains requires more repairs.

The contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation reconstructing this section of the roadway will close the eastbound lanes at Graham Road/71st School Road, starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

To detour around the closure, drivers should take Graham and Strickland Bridge roads and be mindful of the longer commute.

The contractor aims to complete the repairs to the affected drainage structures and reopen the road by Wednesday morning.

The road was reopened after emergency repairs were made June 27. By scheduling the permanent repairs Tuesday, the contractor can stage the necessary equipment and expediate the process.
